Basil can relief stomach cramps, vomiting, whooping cough or headache. It has a strong, sweet, aroma and flavor.  It is most recognised for its role in Italian cuisine, as well as in Southeast Asian dishes. The dried leaves have a much more mild flavor than the fresh plant.

The dried herb can be used in many recipes, like pastas, meat dishes, soups and sauces like pesto sauce.

It can also be made into a tea when fighting a cold.
