Comfrey root is said to have astringent, anti-inflammatory, demulcent and cell proliferating properties. It has been traditionally used to heal wounds, cartilage, and bones. It has a high allantoin content which makes cells grow faster and promotes healing.
Comfrey root can also be added to salves and lotions.
